FSSAI license vs FSSAI registration

• Under FSSAI, there are two kinds of FSSAI license, namely, the Central FSSAI license and State FSSAI license. In addition to the FSSAI License, there is also an FSSAI registration which is applicable for petty food retailers.

There are three Categories of FSSAI/ Food License, depending upon the turnover of the Food Business Operator.

FSSAI Basic License

FSSAI Basic Registration has to be obtained by small FBOs having a turnover up to Rs. 12 Lakhs. The FBOs having a turnover exceeding Rs. Twelve lakhs need to obtain FSSAI License.

FSSAI State License

A state license is awarded to those that have a turnover of Rs. 12 lakhs to 20 crores and operate within a particular state only.

FSSAI Central License

A central license is given to those businesses that have an annual turnover of more than 20 crores and for those that operate in multiple states.

FSSAI Registration Fee

• • Fees for basic FSSAI License is fixed at INR 100 for one year.
  • The FSSAI State License fees ranges from INR 2000/- to 5000/- a year.
  • Fees for FSSAI Central license is fixed at INR 7500/- per year.

What are the documents required for FSSAI registration?

• • Photo of Food Business Operator.
  • Document for Identity Proof like Ration Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, Aadhar Card, Senior Citizen Card, Department Issued ID.
  • Supporting Documents (if any):- NOC by Municipality or Panchayat, Health NOC.

How to apply for FSSAI Registration Online?

To apply for FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) registration online in India, you need to follow these steps:
