Insecticide license is required in India for the manufacture, sale, distribution, and use of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and other such products that are used to control or eliminate pests, insects, and weeds. The scope of the insecticide license in India is significant as the agriculture sector plays a vital role in the Indian economy.
India has a large agricultural sector, and farmers use various insecticides and pesticides to protect their crops from pests and diseases. Therefore, the demand for insecticides is high in India, and obtaining an insecticide license is essential for individuals or businesses involved in the manufacture, sale, and distribution of insecticides.
Moreover, insecticides are also used in households, public places, and commercial establishments to control pests such as mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, and rodents. Hence, the demand for insecticides is not limited to the agriculture sector alone but extends to other sectors as well.
Insecticide license holders can start their own manufacturing and distribution businesses, or they can work for companies in the agriculture or pest control industry. The license also offers opportunities to research and develop new insecticides or to work in regulatory bodies such as the Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIBRC) or the State Agriculture Department.
